Thank you for joining in the thread, @point506.
We're unable to suggest a specific app to export the TXF files directly from QuickBooks to TurboTax. I'd recommend searching for it on the internet or seek out your accountant for suggestions. This way, we can ensure that the app is integrated with QuickBooks.
Once you're able to find the app, you can search for it in the Apps center and check if it was integrated with the product. Here's how:
- From the left menu, select Apps.
- Go to the Find apps tab.
- Enter the app name in the search bar or select the Browse category ▼ drop-down menu to check out different apps.
To get more details on what data you can export from QuickBooks Online (QBO), please check out this article: How to Export Data out of QBO.
Let me know if you need further assistance with this. I'm always around to provide answers and clarifications to your questions. Have a great day ahead and take care.

Quickbooks has removed the option to export data from Quickbooks online to a backup copy to import into Quickbooks Desktop. They suggested you upgrade to Online Advanced for $150 per month which has a backup feature option

You can still convert data from QBO US to QBD US.
If you are using QBO Plus or a lower plan, utilize a 3rd party backup restore app

QBO stops providing export data service for QBO to QBDT conversion purpose. Need to use 3rd party app to export/import data from QBO to QBDT.
For QBO backup, you can either upgrade to QBO advance for the backup function or use 3rd party app, such Rewind, but again those backup are stored in cloud not in your local drive.
Hope this helps.

FYI, QBO does not support the export data to convert data from QBO to QBDT anymore. This is confirmed by QBO customer service rep. The article is useless.

QB desktop for mac says it cannot allow the import because my GL account types do not match. I have literally been on the phone with payroll core and QB desktop for 4 1/2 hours. Everyone transfers to the other. Never had a problem with the old payroll.

I'll help you get back to business, @AB-68.
Let's make sure the accounts or fields are mapped correctly. You can make changes if need be. This way, you can import the transactions seamlessly.
Let me show you how:
- Go to the File menu. Choose Import, then choose Items.
- Select the item ty[pe you want to copy.
- Open the item spreadsheet and compare the columns with columns in the QuickBooks spreadsheet.
- Make changes, if applicable.
- In QuickBooks, set up Income Accounts. If you'll be tracking inventory in QuickBooks, set up COGS Accounts and Asset Accounts too.
Check out the remaining steps to completely import data: Import data into QuickBooks for Mac.
You're always welcome to post in the Community. Take care!

I've been using Intuit Online Payroll (IOP) for years along with QBDT. I created paychecks and tax payments and was prompted to create an export file. Which was easily imported to QBDT. Now IOP has been moved to QBO. I recently created paychecks and was prompted to export the transactions. Worked fine. This was just about two weeks ago. Today, I created tax payments and there are no options to export. I went through FIVE chats and FOUR phone calls only to be shuffled around. Help??

Let me provide the information regarding exporting of paychecks, JackD1.
If you're using the Standalone Payroll Product, you can export payroll transactions to QuickBooks Desktop. Once you're subscribed to one, you'll have to set up the export preferences first. Then, you can export the payroll transactions or paychecks. You can check this article to guide you better: Export into QuickBooks Online or Desktop from Core, Premium, or Elite Standalone Payroll.
However, if you're using the QuickBooks Online Enhanced Payroll or Core, you're unable to export the paychecks alone. You'll have to export the whole data to QuickBooks Desktop.
If you have more questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We're right here to help you. Keep safe!

Thanks for joining us here, @socius.
I'll share the steps on how you can export your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop. The migration process will take effect when you replace the URL of the browser with exportqbodatatoqbdt. In order to download the tool make sure you're using the supported browser. Please note that Internet Explorer and older versions of Safari are no longer supported.
Let me guide you how.
- Sign in to the QuickBooks Online account you want to convert using a supported web browser.
- Highlight the URL and replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt. The URL should say https://cxx.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt. XX in the URL is a number, (don't edit the number), and select Enter on your keyboard. Other support task links won't work during this process.
- You'll see an Export Overview Window. Read the Export Overview. You can print it if you'd like. Tap Get Started.
- Tap the Download tool to download the QuickBooks Desktop migration tool.
- Once you download the tool, launch the tool to install it and select Next.
- Accept the terms in the license agreement and then Next,
- Choose Complete as the type of setup, select Next and then Install.
- Click Finish
Details on the process are found in this guide: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.
Also, check out this article to learn about: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
Drop your reply anytime below if you have other questions or concerns with the migration process. I'm always here to help. Have a good one.

I have run the quickbooks export and used the migration tool. It all went along smoothly and I opened the account in QB desktop - however, when comparing - P&L reports they do not match at all - also looked at chart of accounts and they don't match up either. Something is woefully off about this import.

I can share with you some details on what happens when you download or convert customer data in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Lisa.
It will not damage your customer's online files if you convert their data to QBDT. However, there are certain exceptions.
Take a look at the following items:
- The length of display names is restricted to 31 characters.
- Both the full name and the company name are limited to 41 characters.
- Each line of the Billing and Shipping Address is restricted to 41 characters.
- The length of an e-mail address is limited to 81 characters.
- Customers who have been deleted are changed to inactive customers.
- Default terms for sub-customers are adjusted to reflect the default terms for their parents.
- Due to PCI compliance, customer credit card information does not export.
- Customer notes, preferred delivery method, mobile number, pager number, and is taxable status are not exported.
Refer to this article for further information on how your data converts from QBO to QBDT, aside from your clients' information: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
To ensure your books match and the information is exported correctly, I suggest running the Profit and Loss report in QuickBooks Online. Then, compare it to the same report in QBDT on accrual basis. For more information, see Step 5 in this article: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.
Post a reply below if you have any further queries regarding downloading your clients' information or anything else. I'm always willing to assist. Have a fantastic day!

Do you need to convert data from QB Online US version to QB Desktop US version? You may have 3 ways:
1. The converter tool
2. A 3rd party migration tool (i.e TPExporter for Online, TPmporter for Desktop)
https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo
3. A 3rd party migration service.
