I'd be glad to share some insights on how to update your linked accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
In QBO, automatic updates run seamlessly and start automatically around 10 p.m. PT.
Can you please provide me the name of your bank institution? This will also assist me in checking for any reported issues related to your concern.
In the meantime, you can log in to your bank's website to check for any important notifications or messages that need to be addressed.
If there's no issue with the bank, you can log in back to your QBO account and manually update your bank transactions.
Here's how:
- At the left panel select Bank Transaction.
- Click Update.
You can also manually download bank transactions using a CSV file. Refer to this link as your guide: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

While reconnecting the account, did you receive any error messages? If so, could you please share the exact error message or a screenshot of it? This information will help us provide a more tailored solution.
In the meantime, please log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) using an incognito or private browser. Utilizing these modes prevents the use of your cache, which, although designed to make your browser run faster, can sometimes cause unusual program behavior over time. Here are the keyboard shortcuts for supported browsers:
- Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
- Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
- Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
- Safari: Command + Shift + N
Once logged in, please try linking and updating your bank account again. If it's successful, clear your browser's cache to remove specific issues and help the program run efficiently. Also, you can use other devices and supported browsers to ensure everything works as expected.
Additionally, ensure to reconcile your accounts to keep them accurate and up-to-date.

Error message is:
Something unexpected happened and we couldn't connect to your bank.
Try signing in again, and check for typos and other errors. If that doesn't work, try signing in on the Wells Fargo Vantage site. (390)
I tried all your recommendations with no luck. I imported the qbo file for yesterday's transactions, but the transaction details don't come through that so I'd rather the link work correctly as I need the details.

Hi. The bank is Wells Fargo.
I'm also trying to link the information from an app called GetCost and it doesn't seem to get the info as it's in tje app either.
It just did the first time I link it but then it doesn't stay updated after days. I don't think this quick book have the ability to updated anything correctly.
