Buy nowHi - I have created a Report Group that includes 3 customized reports. On one of the customized reports I've collapsed some rows, but when I do Print as PDF on the group, the report auto-expands to include all of the detailed rows. How can I prevent this from happening?
Welcome to the Community, @aphcb.
Let me help you with preventing the collapsed row from auto-expanding when printing a PDF.
We can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to know whether this issue you're experiencing is browser-caused. We can use these keyboard shortcuts to access incognito or private mode. Here's how:
Additionally, I recommend clearing your cache to refresh your website preferences for QBO to run correctly. Also, to ensure you have the best experience while using QBO, we recommend using the latest version of your browser and updating your Adobe Acrobat Reader. By doing this, you will get the most out of the QBO platform.

Hi SheandL,
I have tried all of your trouble shooting steps and am still having the same issue. When I print the single report as a PDF, the report is collapsed correctly. However, when I print the same report as part of a Group, it auto-expands.
Hi SheandL,
I have tried all of your suggested troubleshooting tips and am still experiencing the same issue. When I print the customized report as a PDF by itself the rows are collapsed correctly, but when I print it as part of a group it continues to auto-expand to all rows.
Hi there, @aphcb.
I understand the importance of exporting your customized report group to show only the specific rows. Currently, this is how the system works in QuickBooks Online. Rest assured, we can still achieve your goal by exporting each report as a PDF, converting it to a .docx file, and then grouping them in Microsoft Word.
While this feature is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online, we encourage you to share your feedback directly with our product engineers, as this will help them identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall user experience. Your input is valuable, and our engineers are dedicated to incorporating your suggestions to provide the best service for everyone.

Any update on this feature request? Not being able to print a pdf report with collapsed rows in Quickbooks Online effectively prevents me from using the report writer at all for communicating outside the company because it exposes sensitive information, like investor names in a Balance Sheet report, to anyone who receives the report.
In addition to forcing me to expose sensitive information in a report, not being able to print a pdf report with collapsed rows also makes the reports unnecessarily detailed and unfriendly to the reader.
It's great to have you join the discussion, Charlesawalsh. I know that printing your reports in PDf with the customized rows is beneficial for the security of your business. Let me ensure you get the information you need on tracking the feature request.

I had the same problem. I could not find the answer using QBO support, however, AI helped. It said that you cannot print a collapsed report if it is part of a group. So, I ran an individual report and collapsed my chosen accounts, and it printed as I wanted !
I learned from AI that you cannot print a collapsed report if it is part of a group. So I ran the report individually and collapsed the chosen accounts. It printed as I wanted.
