Get 50% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months*
Buy nowAs I’m out to dinner with my wife, I get an email from Quickbooks that they are closing my payments account. I did not ask them to. I’ve been trying for over a month to get them to change my email address, because in the back end, you can’t change your own email address. Two weeks ago, they had my payments on hold for the whole week. Just randomly. We run a small business and have had headache after headache with this company, I have no clue what happened.

The situation on payment hold was resolved two weeks ago. From then, we’ve been pretty quiet with only a couple of small transactions. It makes no sense that after we went through two weeks ago to have the funds on hold released, that QuickBooks Money would close my account so suddenly and without warning???!! I’m just astonished at this.
I also am attempting to retrieve my money from a customer. I did not sign up nor authorize to receive payments. QuickBooks anyway and is holding $8,000.
Under account settings the Accept Payments button does not work. Something fishy is going on with QuickBooks.

I'm still just astonished that Quickbooks would send me an email at 9:00 at night on a Friday night stating that my payments account had been closed. No warnings, no chargebacks, nothing. Just Quickbooks being jerks. I've read that Quickbooks just randomly closes accounts without warning, but I've been so cautious with my account.
Did you ever get any answers or them releasing the funds? This is happening to me and the payment was on hold for a week, just for me to get an email that my account was closed and every representative says they don't know why and can't do anything about it. Just kept the customers money and won't release it
This just happened to me as well. 2:39am I received 3 emails that they were closing my account and a transfer of funds had been initiated with no calls, heads-up on anything prior to that. Had the account open for 4 years with no issues. Where are the funds being transferred to? No idea, and it's a lot of money.
No customer service agent has a clue why and just kept saying "our operations team needs to review this and will get back to you in 1-3 days". That doesn't help when you need to pay bills from your checking account. It's been 2 days and still nothing from them.
I will be closing down my Quickbooks accounts for all of my business due to this. It's absolutely insane.
This just happened to me this past weekend. I cannot imagine how much interest they earn holding thousands of these 5k-10k payments for a week or more. This is sketchy and unprofessional. They have zero reasoning and I’ve tried online, email, chat, phone. How can they get away with this, I’m a small business. You can’t hold 5k for a week for no reason. Do better, Intuit!

QuickBooks suddenly closed my payments account and is holding over $1000 of my money — with no warning and no explanation.
All my business info is correct: EIN, tax ID, and linked bank account. I didn’t receive any notice, and All of a sudden I got an email that my payment account closed.when I contacted support, they just said it was a “business decision.”
No one will tell me why. This is unacceptable and unprofessional.
I trusted Intuit with my business, and now they’re holding my money and I have no idea when is going to be released?

This is not the experience we want you to have with us, Moh. Let's review and see what else we have to get this working.
Your QuickBooks Payments account is always subject for eligibility criteria, credits, and application approval. Even if your account has been approved and was able to process online payments for your past transactions, you are still subject for eligibility criteria and credits.
If you're not meeting those qualifications, you'll receive a notice via email about the status of your account. You can check the QuickBooks Terms of Service. It is best to review the Merchant Services Agreements when you sign up for QuickBooks Payments. It should give us a broader perspective of the offered services and our responsibilities.
Moreover, I'd recommend reaching out to our Payments Support Team on their supporting hours. They can review again your account and provide you more details of what happened. They can also help you reinstate it if necessary.
Meanwhile, the payments are on hold because Intuit is still reviewing the transactions. This process ensures that you and your customers are protected from any fraudulent activities. You can check the status through the Merchant Service Center.
You'll also be notified via email if there's an issue with the payment. I'd suggest you follow the Check your email for notifications section of this article: Learn about funds on hold in QuickBooks Payments.
Once you have settled your account, you can start receiving and processing payments again in QuickBooks Online.
Keep in touch and let us know how this goes. We'll give a hand if necessary.
@JamesDuanT RE: This is not the experience we want you to have with us, Moh.
Yes it is. You closed the account. It's exactly what you wanted to happen.
Same here. I’m pretty close to filing a class action lawsuit against QuickBooks.
@MARSRSCO Someone needs to. There have been a few others that have said they were going to file one, and even had an attorney lined up to do so, but nothing ever came of them.
They just closed my account , no warning , all my business money . Can’t use my debit card. They just said it was a business decision. I have had this account for 4 years
