Let's run the Verify and Rebuild utility tool, taxesrita.
This will detect any issues in your company file and corrects them. Just make sure to create a backup copy of your company file beforehand.
To run the tool:
- Go to the File menu and hover over Utilities.
- Select Verify Data.
- Then, let the tool check your file for data issues.
If the tool detects an issue, rebuild the file by following these steps:
- From the File menu, choose Utilities and select Rebuild Data.
- Select OK in QuickBooks Information window and wait for the tool to repair your file.
- Once done, click on OK.
Otherwise, repair QuickBooks to replace all damaged installation files of the software.
- Open Control Panel, and click on Programs, then Programs and Features.
- Choose Uninstall or change a program.
- Select QuickBooks and choose Uninstall/Change.
- If prompted, select Continue and Next.
- Click Finish and restart your computer.
If the issue persists, completely uninstall or clean install QuickBooks Desktop to replace the system files on your computer.
