As mention by my colleague, @Kristine Mae, your QuickBooks Pro 2008 is a discontinued version. You may be able to use it, but you'll encounter unusual behaviors or errors. 

I recommend reaching out again to our support team. They have a safe environment to open your account and provide you the validation code. 

We offer support in upgrading your company file to a supported version for the discontinued version of QuickBooks Desktop. If there are any technical issues, we’re unable to support the discontinued version.
