Hello there, Hudson.

We can manually verify the correct hours, by doing this:

  1. Convert both times to minutes:
    • 9:45 AM = 585 minutes.
    • 4:30 PM = 990 minutes.
  2. Subtract:
    • 990 - 585 = 405 minutes.
  3. Convert back to hours:
    • 405 ÷ 60 = 7.75 hours.

If QuickBooks calculates 6.75 hours, it is applying a break deduction or rounding adjustment.

We can also do some of these troubleshooting steps to identify the issue:

  • Check for Automatic Break Deductions:
    • Go to Account and SettingsTime Tracking and ensure lunch/break deductions are adjusted properly.
  • Verify Time Zone:
    • Ensure your company settings reflect the correct time zone.
  • Ensure Accurate Entries:
    • Make sure AM/PM designations are correct.
  • Inspect Rounding Settings:
    • Check for automatic rounding or payroll-specific policies.
