Remove old company file from start window?
Hi, I have Quickbooks For Mac, desktop version. I want to hide an old company file from the doc start-up window? I have old company files, and it is too confusing when I login.
I found directions for the online version but not the desktop. Does anyone know how?
Thanks!

Thanks for checking in with us, Jane29.
Everything on your Mac such as documents, pictures, music, apps, and more is organized in folders. We can create a new folder to keep the old QuickBooks company files there. Just choose File on the desktop and click the New Folder option, or press Shift-Command-N. Then, enter a name for the folder and press Return.
Once done, click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a Finder window. From there, put the old files by dragging them to the folder. For more details about this one, visit the Organize files in folders on Mac link for your reference. Just in case you need to restore your company file, check out these articles:

Thanks for coming back for more support, @Jane29. The steps shared by my peer @RCV would help you hide your old company file.
If that doesn't work, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team again. They can help you accomplish this as they did before. Here's how:
- Click this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
- Select QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
- Click Search for something else, then enter your concern in the Ask us anything field and click Search.
- Select the Start a Message button.
- Enter all necessary information in the pop-up box, then click I'm not a robot and hit Submit.
For future reference, you also want to visit the Little Square to explore some of the QuickBooks for Mac keyboard shortcuts.
Feel free to message again if you have more concerns about QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. I'll be here to guide you. Take care.

I do not think you are understanding the question. I do have my older QB‘s in separate file folders, already.
I‘m asking about when QB is first clicked to open, a list of different company files is shown. On that list are old QB files that I no longer use. I only need 2 to show up but 5 are there. I‘m hoping to remove them from the GQ start-up list.
