We understand that encountering unexpected changes in your software interface, such as switching the icon bar from the top to the left, can take up too much space and disrupt your workflow.

 

To change the icon bar from the left side to the top in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), please close your QBDT and follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to the menu bar, choose View, then click  Customize Icon Bar.
  2. Locate the icon you wish to reposition within the icon bar content section.
  3. Move the icon by dragging its diamond up or down to your desired spot.
  4. Click OK to confirm your changes.

However, if the issue persists, ensure you're using the latest QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) version to take advantage of the newest features and product enhancements. If your software is current, try using the QuickBooks Tool Hub to address the vendor issue. Please close your QBDT first and then follow the steps outlined below:

 

    1. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.5) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub, then save the file where you can quickly locate it.
    2. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
    3. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
    4. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub when the installation finishes.

     

    Utilize the Quick Fix my Program tool from the Tool Hub. Please follow the steps below:

     

    1. Within the QuickBooks Tool Hub, click on Program Problems.
    2. Choose Quick Fix My Program.
    3. Launch QuickBooks Desktop and access your data file.
