Let's run some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate what causes the issue, userjaychiam.
To start with, let's connect the account on a private window. It is the best place to identify any browser-related issues. You can use these keyboard keys to open one:
- Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
- Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
- Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
- Safari: Command + Shift + N
If it works, you can go back to a regular browser and clear its cache. A piled cache can also be the reason for some unexpected issues on the opened pages.
You can also switch to a different supported browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.
Once connected, you can check these references to categorise the downloaded transactions:
- Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online
- Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online
- Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online
I'll be around if ever you need help about categorizing the transactions. Keep safe!

I am not sure this is a browser issue, rather an issue between the connection between DBS and Quickbooks. It used to connect to DBS ideal earlier but hasn't for the last couple of years. Other software, like Xero, flawlessly update from DBS Ideal. Please work with DBS to ensure Ideal accounts can also be updated automatically. I am still following the workabout solution of downloading files, copying into template to match quickbooks format, save as csv and then import. This is a waste of time since it should be done automatically. Please do make the effort to sort this out. Thank you.

Hi Sal Singapore!
I understand that you want to connect DBS Bank to QuickBooks Online. As per checking, there's no investigation about DBS and QuickBooks Online integration.
You'll want to check with the bank. We need to make sure that they aren't having any system issue which can cause connection interruptions.
If the DBS is still connected to your QuickBooks Online, you'll want to manually update it. Go to the Banking menu, select the Banking tab, and tap the Update button.
Additionally, I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support Team if this issue persists. They can conduct a proper investigation to see what's causing this error:
- Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
- When asked by the bot, enter "DBS Bank".
- Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
- Choose a way to connect with them.
Also, QuickBooks Online can only connect to a personal bank account. You can send a request so that DBS Ideal will be supported. Please check this link and proceed to Step 3: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.
Need help in categorising transactions? Here's the detailed guide: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Please let me know if you have further concerns by commenting again on this post. I'll be here.

Hi Alex, thank you for your email. There is an option to connect DBS PERSONAL banking to quickbooks but not DBS IDEAL which is used for corporate accounts. This used to be in beta about two years ago, but is no longer an option. Please reach out to DBS and rectify this.

Hi Alex,
Even the connection to DBS Personal just brings in the total balance of the account. It doesn't import the individual transactions and I'm left having to mess about with CSV files and manual imports. We also cannot import DBS credit cards to Quickbooks
Please could you do some market research.... DBS is the largest and most digitally advanced bank in Singapore (by a long shot). Quickbooks should connect to it and import transactions properly.
Thanks,
Ali

Thanks for joining this thread and for bringing this to our attention, @AliFancy.
I can see the importance of connecting your bank with QuickBooks. At this time, DBS corporate banking connection type is not yet supported only the personal banking for DBS Singapore. In this case, I suggest using the Request support for your bank option as a sign of petition to add your bank as one of the supported financial institutions.
Let me show you how:
- Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu.
- Click Add account.
- Search for the name of your financial institution.
- If you’re still unable to find your bank, choose Request support for your bank.
- Enter your bank's web address (URL) in the field provided, then select Request.
Learn more about connecting your bank in QBO through this helpful link: Find your bank account when you connect to online banking.
In the meantime, you can continue to import your banking transactions as a CSV file. Let me share this article for more details: Manually Upload Transactions Into QuickBooks Online.
Additionally, let me attach a couple of articles to help you import bank data in QuickBooks:
- Common Errors for Importing Bank Transactions Using CSV
- Unmatch Downloaded Bank Transactions or Move Them to Another Account
Feel at ease to leave a comment below if you have other questions about banking in QuickBooks. I'll be happy to assist you again. Keep safe and take care.

Hmmm..... seems like Quickbook Online is facing a political issue connecting to DBS Ideal rather than a technical one. All question came back as trying to avoid the issue.

@Vloh : I agree. Quickbooks support team just sent the usual "form" reply as they have done to others with similar questions. Completely useless reply from Quickbooks.
It's a shame that Quickbooks just wants to use this communication channel as an attempt to "pacify users" rather than as a tool to really listen and to solve customer issues. Seems like they missed out on Customer Service 101.
To date.... I'm no further along with getting DBS to work in Quickbooks without extensive messing about with text files and importing them. Meanwhile, Zero Accounting is killing Quickbooks in the market. Shame.

Thanks for joining this conversation, @josedlc. I understand the urgency of connecting DBS personal bank in QuickBooks.
Error 108 means there's a message from your bank or credit card on their website. There could be messages about updates which cause to block the connection to QuickBooks.
I appreciate you for checking your messages. Since you don't see one when you sign in, you may need to turn off your web browser's pop-up blocker.
After reviewing and addressing all the messages, sign back into QuickBooks to update your bank connections.
Here's how:
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
- Go to the Banking menu.
- Select Update.
For future reference, read through this article to learn more about requesting support for your bank: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.
Get back to me at any time if you need further assistance. I'll be right here to listen and answer your concerns.

Thank you for sharing an update, @josedlc.
Since there are no new messages on your bank's website that you can respond to, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support team. An agent can conduct a proper investigation to see what's causing this error 108.
Here's how:
- Click the (?) Help icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Dashboard.
- Select Talk to a Human.
- Enter a short description of your concern and press Enter.
- Click I still need a human.
- Select Contact Us to connect with our live support.
- Choose a way to connect to us.
In the meantime, you can manually import your transactions and categorise them.
Feel free to get back to us if you need help aside from connecting to DBS. We'll be right here to assist you.
