Hi craigsas,
Let me guide you on how to delete a user in your QuickBooks Online account. Here's how to:
- Log in as the master/primary admin user of QBO.
- Click on Settings icon.
- Click on Manage users.
- Select the ellipsis icon on the user you wanted to delete.
- Click on Delete and click on Delete user to confirm action.
That's it. The user is now deleted in your QBO file. Check this link to learn more about how to add, manage or delete users in Quickbooks Online.
Post again in the Community if you have other QBO concerns.

That's not what I'm trying to do.
That deletes the user (I've already done that)
When I log in the user that has been deleted is the default user on the login screen.

Are you trying to change your user id/email when signing in to QuickBooks Online? If yes, follow these steps to change your user id on file.
- Log in to your QBO file.
- Click on the profile icone next to Settings.
- Click on Manage your Intuit Account.
- Click on Sign in & Security.
- Select your User id and email address.
- Make changes.
- When your done, click on Save.
If you wanted to remove a user id, log in directly to accounts.intuit.com and click on Remove a user id. Select the user id you wanted to remove.
