Let me help you with this, jhans6.
It might be that your company file is stored in a different location. Thus, you're unable to see it when you open your QB Mac.
Let's locate the company file to check if you've open a different one:
- Go to the File menu.
- Click on File Finder Window.
- Click on Documents on the All My Files page.
- Look for the file on the Documents page or search the company name on the search field.
Once you've located your company file, follow these steps to restore:
- Go to the File menu, then click Restore Company.
- Select Restore a Backup File, then click Next.
- Hit the Local backup.
- Select the company file, then click Next.
- Choose the location where to save the restored file.
- Hit Save.
Furthermore, make sure to create a location in which you store a copy of your company file. This will make it easier for you to locate them in the future.
Here's an article on how to backup your company file: Back up your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac company file.
Please let me know how it goes so I can assist you further.
