Hello CherieT,
It sounds like you may be referring to the ending balance you entered when you began the reconcile process. Typos happen, and sometimes we need to change these numbers. Luckily, it's just a quick fix to change the ending balance. Follow these steps on the reconcile screen.
- On the reconcile screen, click Edit info.
- Edit the Ending Balance.
- Click Save.
That should do it! Here's a great set of articles to help you with all your reconciliation needs: Reconcile Hub
Don't be afraid to ask more questions. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Can you help me find this option? I do not see “edit info” on the reconcile screen. Perhaps I’m in the wrong please. I would appreciate it!

Hi KeiraLC,
I'd be happy to help you find the edit info option so you can change the ending balance on your reconcile.
If you need to change the ending balance it can only be done before you submit your reconcile. In order to find the edit you'll need to follow these steps. Go to Accounting>Reconcile>Resume Reconciling. Once there you'll see the edit info in the top right of the screen. If you still don't see it that could be due to your browser having issues with the cache and cookies. You can clear them by following the steps in this article. I suggest also trying a different internet browser or a private browser such as Google chromes incognito mode. If you already submitted the reconcile you'll need to get in touch with your accountant to remove the reconcile and then you can create it again. If you don't have an accountant however we can help. Just go to: My Accountant>Find a pro to help to find an accountant near you that can help.
Hope this helped.

Dear Sir/ Madam,
We are planning to re-start our bookkeeping on Quickbooks and moving our data from Xero back to our existing Quickbooks Online Subscription. Therefore, I have a few questions regarding this:
Q 1. How DO I re-start the bookkeeping work on Quickbooks Online, which reports should I get from our bookkeepers and please instruct how can to input this data and where to? Is the ending balance entry good enough to be able to re-start the bookkeeping on Quickboks from the 1st day of the next month?
Q 2. The previous bookkeepers provided us with an account transactins report to the date in GBP, which they were doing for the VAT purposes. How can I convert the currency for the ending balance from GBP to USD, as our main trade currency is USD and input this data to our QBO accordingly to restart the bookkeping please?
Thank you very much in advance and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards,
Richard
