There is no easy way to transfer data between QBO companies. You can download a free trial of desktop and export from QBO to Desktop and then import to QBO but you might be better off just entering it all over again

Hi there, @hoonscott,
Welcome aboard to the Community and thanks for choosing QuickBooks as your accounting software. I can share some insights about transferring your QBO data from one account to another.
At the moment, we're unable to entirely transfer your data and transactions between accounts. If you signed up for a new account, you can start transferring your data manually. Here are the steps to get started:
To export the data:
- On your QuickBooks account, go to the Gear icon.
- Select which data you'd like to export.
- Click on the Export to Excel button.
To import the data:
- Log in to the new account, then click on the Gear icon at the upper right.
- Under Tools, choose Import Data.
- Select the type of data that you'd like to import.
- Click Browse to select a file to be imported.
- Click on the Next button until finished.
For more information about importing or exporting data, you can check out these articles:
Additionally, you can open the trial version and update your billing information if you don't want to transfer the files one at a time. To do this, I'd recommend getting in touch with our QBO Support Team to get help with your subscriptions.
Here's how to contact us:
- Click the (?) Help menu at the top right section of your QBO Dashboard.
- Tap the Contact us button.
That should do it. Please know that QuickBooks is always here if you need it in the future. I'd be glad to answer any additional questions should you have any. Have a great day!

Thanks for the responses guys. Entering everything again is a deal breaker. I guess I will try this export/ import method and see how that turns out. Thanks!

The robot failed to mention that can only import lists, i.e. list of customers, vendors and P/S items, without transactions. You can import bank transactions; deposits and expenses, but just date, memo and amount, no category.
But the robot mentioned that you can convert your trial file to a paid subscription, and suggested you call customer service. Did you do that?

hi @mwfinance1920 ,
Utilize the trial period of ChronoBooks and use the Copy feature between your trial account and paid one.

I merged my QBO and QB Pro into a single file with these guys:
quickbooksrepairpro.com
I needed to make a backup for pro.
I needed to export QBO to "desktop"
I paid them their fee and the took the files.
a couple days later I got one file back with ALL the datain one file.
uploaded it to QBO as a new company, setup my prefrences (HIGHLY recommend two screens, open the original QBO on one screen and with another browser on the other screen)
Then after a week of using the merged file I deleted the old QBO.
sure its a pain to setup incoice templates and a few other things... but worth it

tried the export to excel and import back is a nightmare! it won't allow a seamless transfer. it will ask you to manually enter or correct the errors. am looking to find a new accounting software that can migrate my data seamlessly.

You can utilize a migration tool or purchase a 3rd party migration service.

do you know of a good migration app? tried this https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo, but does the same as migrating data from quickbook online to excel. it asks the same questions. did a trial version and sampled it on a trial version of quickbook online and does the same as you would on qbo online migration. all i need is a seamless transition. i.e, export data from old qbo acct and import it to a new qbo acct.

I can help you find a migration that suits your needs, @mike_b91a1!
Integrated applications are available to download through the QuickBooks App Store. You can try searching for the app within your QuickBooks Online account.
You can follow these steps:
- On the left panel, click Apps.
- Go to the Find Apps tab.
- Use the search bar to look for an app.
Refer to these articles for more info:
Lastly, I'd like to let you know that our developers are constantly uncovering and considering new ways to improve the program. To be updated with our latest news and enhancements, you can visit our QuickBooks Online Blog.
Keep in touch with me here should you have any additional questions or concerns. I'm always available to help.

If you are using a migration tool, you have to export data to XLS and import the data to another account. Once we were able to migrate data by Chronobooks seamlessly. But now it is applicable only on QBO Advanced.
https:// quickbooks.grsm.io/US
https:// quickbooks.grsm.io/us-promo
We have to find yet any similar app. Another option, consider purchasing a 3rd party migration service.

Completely agree. This is so frustrating! I've made numerous calls to QB technical and searched endlessly for some sort of direct answer. Quickbooks just beats around the bush and doesn't say that this is NOT something that they know how to do or have any control over. What a disservice. I purchased this company and needed to open a new company in QB. Took a little work but not too bad to transfer all Customer and Vendor lists...I HAVE TO have all the data behind every job. Need to have all historical transactions transferred. Definitely need all current and existing jobs (Invoices, Sales Orders, Payments...). They Say Chronos or Saasant but, bust. I don't believe that there is NO ONE that had to transfer all data transactions from one company to another and QB doesn't know how to do this. Used to have faith in QBs.

As I mentioned in earlier post, you may have 2 options:
1. Utilize a migration tool
https:// transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo
2. Purchase a 3rd party migration service.

I am putting in my 2 cents here - I have posted in a couple of places here about the inability of the QBO Advanced backup and copy feature. After over 15 hours with 2 dozen support techs, no one was able to resolve the issue, some just said it can't be done, others insisted on reading the HelpDesk steps to walk through it and almost no one would escalate the call to the advanced team.
Then I read the post:

We noticed you were posting the same question in the US Community. You may reply to the latest response if required. One more thing, we recalled there was an ongoing issue with that feature in the last 2 weeks. Yet we are not sure whether the issue is already resolved or not.
I can tell you that this has not been resolved and the Billing and Subscription department will not do anything to assist in adjusting the subscription rate.
Ugh - I wish there was another program that was as easy to use as QBO.

Why don't you consider switching to QB Desktop? Deploy a private cloud if required.
