Buy nowHello there, Jacqueline11.
I recognize the importance of the feature that allows you to see when your customer views the invoice. However, this is no longer available.
I'll provide an alternative option by reviewing the activity of your invoices from the Sales page. Let me guide you on how:
Just in case you need help organizing your invoice/estimate template in QuickBooks, refer to this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online. This guide provides instructions on incorporating various elements into your sales form and personalizing them to suit your preferences.
You can always reply in the comments below if you need further assistance managing invoices. I'll be right here, willing to help at any time. Have a good one!
@GlinetteC Your "alternate solution" is NOT a solution. It has NOTHING to do with what Jacqueline11 asked.
If the feature is no longer available, just say so and leave it at that. There is NO need to pretend that there is another way to do things, when there clearly isn't.
Of late, it seems Intuit just keeps removing functionality from QuickBooks Online. It's somewhat of a puzzle as to why.
Do they think it has too many features? That would be amusing given how few features it has and how weak they are compared to QuickBooks Desktop.
Why was the feature removed? PLEASE add it back, it is extremely useful and saves time. An explanation would be appreciated.
How do you get to reviewing an invoice's history?
Hello there, @OF27.
I understand the importance of viewing your customer's invoice status. Rest assured, you can still see whether your customer has viewed it. Recently, QuickBooks Online changed the location of the invoice status history. Let me guide you on how to view the status of an invoice. When opening an invoice, the status will display in a new window.
Here's how:
Also, you can learn how to record the invoice payment and deposit it into the correct account after receiving it.
Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding the invoice status you sent to your customer. I'm here to assist you anytime.
Hello, just wanted to chime in. If you click on the activity on the side, once the customer views it the date and time will be reflected there. If they view more than once, you will have to click the > to drop down and see all the dates viewed.
@Jacqueline11 This is not an answer to the original question and this "solution" is almost useless to most customers. Customers usually do not access invoices from the Sales tab and should not be forced to. Invoices are typically accessed from the Search feature or from links. When an invoice is OPEN, everything we need to see about that invoice should be available LIKE IT WAS BEFORE.
We are not requesting a new feature. We are just requesting that this vital feature NOT BE REMOVED.
Please assure that the invoice Activity History will be reinstated on the OPEN invoice as soon as possible. In the meantime, our business will be looking into migrating to a different system in the coming new year.
The above reply should have been directed to @GlinetteC
This is the ultimate of NOT SAVING TIME! Why would QBO take something so practical away. Not the way to keep customers...
Still waiting for an explanation as to why Quickbooks thought this feature should be removed. Again it is essential for our business to be able to see an invoice's history and activity (including WHO sent the invoice, when they sent it, and WHO opened it) directly on the invoice.
Not in another tab. Not on a different page.
Quickbooks, please explain why this was removed and when we can expect it to be reinstated.
Until then, we are still operating under the assumption that we will have to move to a different accounting software in the new year.
