Changes made to a parent account not showing on the sub accounts under the parent account

Thanks for reaching out to us, @actionglass. I'd like to help share some information about making changes to your customer's account in QuickBooks Online.

To properly set up a parent account for a customer, it is important to follow a specific sequence. First, you should make any necessary changes to the sub-customer's account. Once those changes have been made, you can then designate it as a parent account by editing the sub-customer's profile and unchecking the Is a sub-customer checkbox.

See the screenshot below for your visual reference.

Please check this article on how to add, delete, merge, and restore customers in QuickBooks Online: Manage your customer list.

In addition, the links below contain resources that will guide you on how to handle customer-related activities such as creating invoices, managing payments, customizing sales forms, and processing credit or refunds, to name a few.

Reach out to me again if you have any clarifications or questions on how to manage customers in QBO. I’ll be around to assist further. Have a good one.

Changes made to a parent account not showing on the sub accounts under the parent account

I am not trying to make any changes to the sub accounts.  I have changes to the Parent account and want to know why when changing the parent account the changes do not show for the parent account information on the subaccount.  A parent account can have over 50 subaccounts.  If the parent company wants the corporate office mailing address changed, why doesn't quickbook have the parent address changed on all 50 sub accounts.

I appreciate your prompt response, actionglass.

I understand the importance of having a streamlined and efficient process, especially when managing a significant number of subaccounts under a parent company.

The changes made to the parent account won't be reflected in the sub-customers' profiles because they have different setup.

Having the ability to efficiently manage a significant number of subaccounts and ensuring that any modifications made to the parent account  reflected in all subaccounts is great.

Let's forward your valuable suggestions directly to our product engineers. Your feedback will be shared with the appropriate teams, ensuring that we take the essential measures for product enhancement.

Changes made to a parent account not showing on the sub accounts under the parent account

Frankly I am surprised this isn't an issue for others.  Why even have a parent account if the information for the parent account isn't linked to all subaccounts and subsequent updates?  I can't believe our company is the only user that doesn't have 25, 50+ subaccounts linked to a parent account that when there are updates to invoicing instructions, and billing emails and addresses to the parent account that information needs to also be changed for each subaccount.

two years later and having the same issue.  and the automatic response when sending feedback just repeats what I have already done, so what is the point?
