Buy nowIs PCI Compliance included with the fee I pay to QB?
Good afternoon moxiepet,
Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community. To answer your questions, PCI compliance is not included with the Intuit fee. Moreover, Intuit has collaborated with SecurityMetrics, a prominent PCI service provider, to assist you in meeting the necessary requirements. Along with the PCI Compliance from SecurityMetrics, Intuit also provides breach forgiveness. It has a coverage of up to $50,000 ($0 deductible, $0 co-pay) to pay for audits, fines, or other expenses associated with a breach.
If you have further concerns, I suggest contacting PCI support. They are more equipped.
Moreover, I'll be sharing the following articles to learn about the QuickBooks Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance:
Should you have any further concerns about PCI compliance, please don't hesitate to share them with me. I'm here to assist you and ensure you have a clear understanding of these matters.
@moxiepet The real answer is No, it is not included with any fees already paid to QB.
Also, you do NOT need to pay Security Metrics ANY money for PCI compliance.
However, IF you take credit card payments, you WILL need to be pci compliant. There are a large number of companies out there that will offer it for a LOT less money than what Security Metrics charges.
They also will be nicer and less abusive about it all.
There are also ways to do it yourself, if you're up for the task, and want or need to save money.
Good luck.
Can you point me towards the other companies? I'm pulling my hair out from the Security Metrics company constant hounding! They have been emailing me obsessively for over a month and started calling and leaving messages last week. I got another call today plus an email. I have it on my calendar and it's enough already. Last years compliance expires on the 14th....todays email title was "it expires tomorrow" It's BS! ...I don't have time to be constantly hounded by these people. Who else can we use? - Thanks
Where are the PCI compliance requirements stated? Is it an FCC or other entity's requirement and if so what is the exact wording or location of this statement?
Elena
Hello there, @egrassia. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is not regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
To begin, the PCI is a set of rules that businesses must follow if they accept credit or debit card payments. These rules help protect cardholder information and ensure transactions are secure. Intuit has partnered with SecurityMetrics, a company that specializes in PCI compliance, to help you meet these requirements.
On the other hand, the FCC oversees communication systems like radio, television, and the internet. It does not handle PCI compliance or anything related to payment card security standards.
To learn more about the PCI compliance requirements, you can visit the PCI Security Standards Council’s website. SecurityMetrics helps businesses understand and meet these requirements.
