Aug 26th is National Dog day, and since we kicked off our Show & Tell series in the community last year with National Cat Day, we want to give our doggos some love as well! So just like last year, I asked around for people who wanted to share some pics of their beloved pooches and the story of how they came into their lives.
This is Bento
From Sherissa:
He is a 4.5 year old Min Pin/Shih Tzu mix, who enjoys laying on any pillow, even if it is already occupied.
He came home to us for Christmas in 2016, and stole our hearts in an instant. He goes by many names in our house, but the easiest way to get his attention is to eat food in front of him & not share!
He is quite the cuddle bug and knows when it’s time to go to bed, even after sleeping most of the day away.
He also enjoys going kayaking, paddle boarding and riding around in his “Bento Basket” on the front of Mom’s Bike!
Sunny and Gracie (are best friends)
From Shelby:
Sunny (the doxie) is my first born and was adopted at 6 months old. He’s convinced he’s much bigger than he is, and he never leaves my side. Gracie (golden) is 1 year old and full of energy. She was a covid quarantine puppy. She and Sunny are the best of friends that love to play tug-of-war and hide bones from each other
Zephyr the life changer
From Meshelle:
Zephyr came to me on August 28, 2020 from a little ranch town in Arkansas. Flew on a big ol airplane at just 2 months old. Yup, she’s a pandemic pup, and she's changed my life!
My little Blue Heeler is now a little over a year old and chock full of equal parts sweet and spice! She’s been a LOT of work and keeps me movin and groovin, but I can’t imagine life without her.
Blondie baby
From Lisa:
Blondie was set loose in our neighborhood about 8 or 9 years ago. We saw her wandering around for a week or so before we realized she didn't actually have a home. One of my uncles put out some food for her and once my sister and grandmother saw her, there was no chance they were turning their backs on her. She has been a part of the family ever since.
She is some kind of Chihuahua mix, and our vet's best estimate is that she was 1-2 years old when we found her. She loves sunning herself in the backyard as much as she loves to cuddle up next to you when you are watching tv, and she is just the sweetest thing.
"I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.
For me, they are the role model for being alive."
~ Gilda Radner
