Trying to import bank transactions to QB Online, no way to do this correctly.

I've got the steps to successfully import your bank transactions to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @mdpodlug-gmail-c

The CSV file may not be formatted correctly. That's why you're unable to import it to the program.

There are things we'll need to perform to help resolve this. First, let's review the column headers and data. If you use the 3-column format, make sure the DateDescription, and Amount columns on the CSV match the columns and order in QBO. For the 4-column format, check the DateDescriptionCredit, and Debit columns and their headers.

Second, you can correct any transactions that display a number in the Description column. Third, remove the zeroes (0) from the file and leave those cells blank. Fourth, please ensure the Date format has a single pattern, such as dd/mm/yyyy. For more troubleshooting steps, see this article's Formatting CSV files for import section: Import Bank Transactions

After that, please wait a few minutes and upload the file again. If you're receiving a specific error while uploading, go to this article: Fix Bank Upload Errors. Then, click the link specific to the message you've received.

Once imported, I recommend categorising and matching the transactions to the existing entries in QBO. Doing so will help ensure your financial records are accurate. Just go to the For Review tab to complete this task.

Lastly, can I ask for the bank name you're trying to import the transactions to the program? It will be a great help for me to narrow down this issue, so I can make sure I've got you covered.

I'll lend a helping hand if you need anything else. Keep safe always, @mdpodlug-gmail-c

Trying to import bank transactions to QB Online, no way to do this correctly.

Thank you for your quick reply. I made a 3 column Excel CSV file. First column I named Date, and formatted all the dates the same. Second column was Description, and third Amount, where i put the values, formated as number with 2 decimals, and minus sign in front of paid transactions. When I try to upload it says "No 3 columns Date, Memo and Amount". When I delete the first row in CSV (title), it uploads correctly but then when I need to sort it in the next screen on QB Online, it is all mixed up, and no inputs are found.

Welcome aboard to the Community, @mdpodlug-gmail-c.

Let me help you import the bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

There are several reasons why you're unable to upload it successfully in the system. It's probably related to the format of the CSV file.

You can go over the list below to ensure the file is error-free:

  • Remove zeroes (0) from the file and leave those cells blank.
  • Correct any transactions that display a number in the Description column.
  • Remove the word amount if it appears in the name of the Credit or Debit column (Credit amount and Debit amount are incorrect).
  • MAC users must save the file as a Windows CSV file.
  • Correct and standardise the Date format to a single format (for example, dd/mm/yyyy).
  • Some banks provide the day of the week and include it in the Date column (for example, 20/11/2018 TUE), which is not an acceptable format. To correct this, split the date and the day of the week into two separate columns.

In case the problem persists, and you've followed the format, I suggest you proceed with contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They'll be able to check your account in a secure space and assist further with the import process.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Click the Help icon at the top to open the Search window.
  2. From there, scroll down to choose the Contact us button.
  3. Input the issue /topic in the field box and then tap the Let’s talk option.
  4. This will lead you to the contact information window.
  5. Pick how you want to reach out to our support team: Chat or Get a callback.

Additionally, I recommend the following resources, which contain a video tutorial to help a user import the data, as well as using the 3-column or 4-column format:
