I know it's important to save an invoice with a negative amount, yanki-citivi-co-. I'm here to share some insights about this.

 

When creating an invoice, QuickBooks Online won't accept a negative total amount. Thus the reason why you're unable to save the transaction.

 

If you're referring to a line item, you can add a negative amount as long as the total is positive or zero. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Invoice menu.
  2. Click Add product or Service, then select which one you'd like to add.
  3. In the Unit price/rate section, enter the amount.
  4. On the small calculator at the lower part, click the +/- sign. This will change the figures to negative.
  5. Click Add to save the changes.
  6. Review the transaction and then click on Save.
