We have just decided to use Misc. form and send it in.  IRS does not want to receive this form for NEC-1099's.

This form was changed in 2020 to use for contractors.  We have been sending Misc.-1099 form for all the other years 2020-2023.  The IRS has not fined us yet but QB better get on the ball soon or there are going to alot businesses not happy.
