Before taking any steps to isolate the issue, I suggest creating a backup of your company file. This way, you can restore data files easily in case you run into problems. Then, close all the open applications including QuickBooks.

After that, reopen QuickBooks by pressing Windows+R to open the Run window. Then update the tax table from the by entering "update the payroll tax table" from the rectangular box. This helps maintain the paycheck calculation compliance. You'll just have to follow the onscreen steps until the update is complete.

1. Press the Windows key + E to open the file explorer.
2. Click on This PC.
