I needed to run a bonus check for a client who received the cash in December 2020 but didn't run the bonus. So I tried to enter it and received the error noted in the thread above. I contacted QBO help and they had me submit a payroll correction form...even though this isn't a correction. When I didn't hear back for several days I called again and the rep told me it was being worked on and to call back again later. So I called again yesterday and was told it would be 20-30 business days before this would get done.
This is HORRIBLE customer service. Now we will have to do all of our year-end and quarterly reports wrong and amend each and every one of them. We also will have to manually make the tax payments since you can't do it out of QBO without the payroll being there. All of this because we can't bypass a screen. I'm very disappointed.
This was my first encounter with QBO payroll and will be my last.
