Features in QuickBooks can vary by region, which is why the Work in Progress by Project report is not available in Australia. I can assist you in submitting a request to our developers for this functionality, mayank.

While QBO in Australia doesn't currently support the WIP by Project report, I recommend sharing your thoughts for more project reporting choices. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Under the Profile column, select Feedback.
  3. Share your suggestion regarding the missing notification, then click Next.

As a workaround, consider looking for third-party tools that integrate seamlessly with QuickBooks. These apps will help you automate WIP calculations based on inputs from your projects in the program, saving time and reducing manual errors. Here's how to do that:

  1. Go to the Apps menu on the left panel.
  2. Select the Find apps tab to view popular ones or search what you have in mind.
  3. Click the Browse category ▼ to explore more.

After setting up Projects, you can invoice customers for their expenses. Check out this article for more information: Invoice customers for project expenses in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, run project-related reports that allow you to track income, expenses, and profitability. You might also customise them to get the data you need.
