I have some information about deleting an inventory item. QuickBooks can't delete items associated with at least one transaction. You'll want to consider making it inactive so it won't show on your item list.
For inventory type items, you'll need to zero out its quantity to make it inactive. This process will affect your inventory asset account balance and won't match with different reports.
