As mentioned above, the sales report by state is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. Please know that the Location of sale option is only used for the calculation of your sales tax. As a workaround, you'll want to consider utilizing the Location Tracking feature. This way, you'll be able to assign different locations (states) to your sales transactions.
