Since others seemed interested I will post what I came up with. This type of job costing report is critical to my business. Since this type of report was not available directly from Quickbooks, I went hunting for 3rd party software. I decided to download a trial version of Clearify QQube. I was able to produce this report with Excel/QQube with relative ease by modifying a built in job costing pivot table report. It looks something this:

The "Sales (Unbilled)" is the one we are all after. This value sums the unbilled time x service item.

QQube is not free and it requires configuration and setup to get the data from the Quickbooks company file. I am not affiliated with QQube in any way. I am still in my 15 day evaluation period but this looks very promising.
