Hello dear, JC Worth. Yes, that's correct. 

 

Making the account inactive and editing it is one of the options we can do in QuickBooks Online. With that, we can only have the option to modify and deactivate them even we do not use this account yet.

 

When we inactivate accounts, it only means that they are not in use. You may want to check out these articles. You'll get more information on how accounts from the Chart of Accounts works.
