Yes, the P & L does show a line item "Engineer, Consultant," it's one of the larger figures of income in my business, as its composed of all payments from recording studio clients.  However, if it was a client I invoiced (I only invoice maybe 2/3 of my clients) and I mark it as paid, that amount on the P & L decreases.  e.g. if I invoice a client for $500, and they pay it, and I mark as Payment Received, my "Engineer, Consultant" is reduced by $500 and so is my total income.  Weird, right?
