I understand how concerning it must be to see all your payments unapplied, particularly when it affects so many years of payment history, Dianne.

Could you please let me know which version of QuickBooks you are using? This will help us provide you with an accurate response.

 

Let's check the audit log to see if any invoices were changed or deleted, which could have caused the payments to become unapplied.

 

To fix it, manually reapply the payments to those invoices as credit. Here's how:

 

  1. Locate the invoice, then click Receive payments.
  2. In the Credits section, choose the correct unapplied payments.
  3. Hit Save & Close.
