Ensuring that the General options have been configured according to your report needs helps achieve your goal of creating a Balance Sheet by account with non-zero balances, Pkeogan. I'm here to navigate you and operate troubleshooting steps if needed.

In your QuickBooks Online (QBO), guarantee that you've toggled and marked checked the box beside Don't show zero amounts and the Non-zero option so that your Balance Sheet reports display the said information.

Here's a visual reference you can refer:

However, if the details are not visible, let's troubleshoot the browser to rule out any web browser-related issues. Let's start by logging out of your QBO, and then log into an incognito or private website. You can use these keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

After that, check if you can see the non-zero rows in your customized Balance Sheet report. If it works, return to your standard browser and clear its cache. Implementing this step can help eliminate cookies that disrupt web page performance. You can also utilize other QuickBooks-supported browsers.

Additionally, if you remove a balance sheet from your chart of accounts, QuickBooks makes it inactive but preserves the transactions, allowing you to restore it later.

Acquiring the information needed for your Balance Sheet report is my top priority. Don't hesitate to return to this thread if you have more questions. I'll be sure to address them in no time.
