I get why you're feeling so challenged about this, Evan. I recognize the importance of having complete information on your downloaded invoices for both you and your clients. Let me help you find a solution so that you can provide your clients with the accurate and clear invoices they expect.

First, please note that in QuickBooks Online (QBO), the subtotal should normally be visible in the downloaded invoice. Since it isn’t showing up on your end, we can manually add a product and service item as a workaround. Here's how:

  1. On the invoice screen, go to the Product and Services section.
  2. You’ll see a dropdown menu labeled Add Product or Service.
  3. You can use this dropdown to manually add a Subtotal line item at the end of your list.

Moreover, if the issue persists, I highly recommend reaching out to our customer support team for a faster resolution. To reach them, follow these steps:

  1. From your QuickBooks account, go to the Help menu.
  2. Choose to Contact Us.
  3. Type in your concern, then click on Let's Talk.
  4. Select a way to connect with us:
  5. Start a chat with a support expert.
  6. Get a callback from the next available expert.

I'll also include these articles to help you with your invoices once everything is settled:

Let us know if you have further questions about your template in QBO especially including the subtotal, I'll be glad to help you anytime.
