I heard from a friend that use to work for Intuit.  They explained Intuit no longer wants to mange Quickbooks on  2 different platforms (desktop & online).  They're slowing trying to push everyone to online for this reason.  I expect they will continue to raise the price on the desktop version to an obscene amount.  Just to discourage everyone away from the desktop platform.  I would have no qualms switching over to QB online....if they could make the interface and how you use it be exactly like the QBs desktop software.  Unfortunately, the QB online interface is very frustrating from a bookkeeping and accounting  point of view.  I always have various reports up at the same time that I need to cross reference.  Last I checked, it didn't seem like I was able to do that on QBs online.
