I am really amazed there is no way to invoice for a deposit simply in QBO. they responded to this question several times and didn't understand what the OP was asking for. We want a way to for customers to pay for for a deposit for a estimate before we start a job. The generate an invoice from estimate doesn't seem to cover this instead it creates an estimate for the full job and then must be modified to reflect the deposit amount. The deposit feature above doesn't really solve the issue as it is basically a different way to receive already received payments and we are trying to receive deposits from customers with estimates before work starts... We need this to be addressed... A customer should be able to click approve on estimate and pay deposit in one fell swoop without us needing to generate a separate deposit invoice its messy, slow, and requires customer to open 2 separate emails which is frustrating on both ends!
