Buy nowThank you for detailing your issues with Square and QuickBooks Online (QBO), @ScarletCleopatra. I understand your frustration and am here to clarify how transactions are managed differently in QBO's Bank transactions tab versus the App transactions tab to streamline your process. Let's dive in.
Bank transactions in QBO specifically refer to funds moving in and out of your financial accounts. They are automatically pulled from financial institutions and require approval or categorization.
On the other hand, App Transactions (like Square) in QBO are manually inputted or come from integrated applications, reflecting operational activities such as sales or expenses that might not yet be mirrored in your bank transactions.
Connecting your Square account to QuickBooks Online brings your sales transactions automatically.
Additionally, you need to add your bank for Square in QuickBooks, download your bank transactions, and then match them to your Square app transactions.
Lastly, connecting to Square only matches exact customer names unless you manually assign a customer to an imported transaction. This setting applies to future transactions for both customers and products/services.
If you encounter further challenges with Square and QuickBooks integration, please reach out. I’m here to address them and help streamline your setup. Message me anytime.
