This isn't the kind of impression that we want you to have in creating an account and leaving the detail type field blank, Lawren. Our aim is to make the process of creating an account as smooth and straightforward as possible.

Currently, there’s no option to exclude or leave the detail type blank in creating an account in the Chart of Accounts (COA). Detail types are designed to guide you in selecting the appropriate account type, particularly if you're new to accounting. While we're considering this option for future updates, I encourage you to send your suggestion to our product development team. Your feedback is vital for shaping features that truly meet user needs:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit feedback.

I’ll keep this thread open for your concerns and other queries about managing accounts. I’m just a post away to guide you. Stay safe!
