Buy nowQBO support team has given me similar responses: "Just enter the password," "Talk to your accountant," "Just open the period of the original JE," or "Just enter the password." Each time I explain that the reversal pertains to an open period, they don't seem to understand what that means. Instead, they insist that "you can't revise a JE that relates to a closed period."
These were the exact answers I got. It's like I was making a big deal on entering the password or opening the period. Both password and period closing are controls to not mess up closed periods. I even asked for a customer support that actually used QB since no one understood the issue, as of 9/18, password still required.
