Let me share details about preparing a 1099 for your contractor, @info-htkdispatch.

The stored cache can affect the performance of the program which can cause unexpected behavior like the COA doesn't populating. That said, I'd suggest logging in to your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to determine if there's an issue with the browser.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once signed in, prepare your 1099 and verify for any issues. If it works, return to your default browser and clear the cache. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. Switching to other supported web browsers can also help rectify the issue.

To help you modify your chart of accounts for 1099, see his article: Modify your chart of accounts for your 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC filing.

I'll also share these articles to learn more about preparing, filing, and printing your 1099s with QBO:
