Hello, VMP.

I know how you can re-size the columns on your reports again in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I'll guide you on how to do it below.

From your description, it seems that you're now using a newer high-resolution monitor. With this, you need to change your default settings in QuickBooks so you can re-size columns on your reports again. Here's how:

  1. Make sure to close QuickBooks.
  2. Click the Windows Start menu.
  3. Then, key in QuickBooks in the field box.
  4. Right-click the QuickBooks icon and select Open file location.
  5. In the folder, right-click the QuickBooks.exe file and choose Properties.
  6. Go to the Compatibility tab and mark the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings box.
  7. You can also select Change high DPI settings and then Override high DPI scaling behavior.
  8. Press Apply and then OK.

Once you're done, log in to your company file and run any (financial or transaction) reports. If you're still unable to do so, continue troubleshooting by performing Steps 2 to 3 in this article: Fix screen issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

If the issue persists, even after performing the steps above, I'd recommend contacting our Technical Support team. They can check your account setup and investigate the root cause of the issue.

When everything is all set, you can adjust your preferences to customize reports in QuickBooks to fit your personal style and business needs. You may want to check out this article to guide you with the process: Set report preferences.

Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have other reporting concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBDT. I'm always ready to help. Take care, VMP.
