Wow - I didn't actually believe that reports exported from modern view would have unusable numbers.  So I tried it.  You are correct - an excel export from modern view yields "custom" values with $ that can't be used and can't be bulk converted to another form.  When I switch to classic view and export the same report, the values come through without the $ and everything works just fine.

 

This is beyond stupid and once again proves how ill-conceived "modern view" is.  Totally unusable.  We export reports all the time and use excel to produce useful information, because QBO reports are so limiting and don't have what we need - like being able to filter by state for instance - just saying.....

 

Please, please, please roll back this horrible "feature". 

 

And please don't respond to this with yet another suggestion that we "report feedback" for the development team.  It is painfully clear that feedback is ignored and that suggesting we do so is just a way for support to drop the conversation.
