Microsoft Word isn't needed to print documents from QuickBooks Desktop. If you're encountering printing issues, there's a series of things you'll want to check.

Here's some things you'll want to make sure of initially:

  • Confirm QuickBooks is updated to its latest release.
  • Make sure there's no error messages or warning lights displayed on the printer.
  • Confirm you have your latest printer driver installed.
  • Make sure your computer is connected to the printer you're planning to print from.

Next, you can try printing from another program, like Notepad.

Here's how to print with Notepad:

  1. Go to Start, then browse to find and open Notepad.
  2. Enter some text.
  3. In your top menu bar, go to File, then Print.
  4. Choose the correct printer.
  5. Select Print.

If it didn't print, try testing your printer setup. In the event it did print outside of QuickBooks, you'll want to test your company file and QuickBooks installation.

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful day!
