Hello there, @Eric.

I'll guide you in changing your default date in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac so you can manage your data accordingly.

QuickBooks uses the system date format of your Mac system. With this, you'll first need to change your Mac system's default date to select and save your preferred one in QBDT. To do this, here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac.
  2. In the Apple menu, choose System preferences.
  3. Click View, then pick the Date & Time.
  4. Enter the administrator name and password if the padlock at the bottom of the window is closed.
  5. Change the date. If you want to set the date and time according to one of Apple's Network Time Protocol( NTP) servers, select Set Date & time automatically.
  6. Exit the system preferences, then launch QuickBooks.

Once everything is all set, you may also want to check out this PDF file as your reference to guide you in managing your business transactions and navigating QBDT for Mac: QuickBooks Desktop for Mac User's Guide.

Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have other concerns about setting date preferences and managing transactions in QBDT for Mac. I'm always ready to help. Take care, @Eric.
