You need to make sure you met the requirements to send scheduled report, so you get the function working in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I'll gladly share further details about this below and guide you on how you can mail your reports accordingly.
Scheduled reports are sent once the following requirements are achieved:
- The computer you set up the scheduled report on is running and NOT in sleep or hibernate mode.
- Make sure User Account Control is turned OFF.
- QuickBooks is running.
- A company file with scheduled report should be open.
- If you have scheduled reports on multiple company files, NO Company file should be opened.
- QuickBooks is updated to the latest release.
- The company file is in single-user mode.
- An email account is a setup up in QuickBooks.
- You have the keep QuickBooks running for quick startups preference disabled.
Moreover, you can also opt to get help from your IT guy to check for restrictions.
In case the error continues, even after meeting all the requirements above, you can prepare and mail your reports manually. To do this, here's how:
- Open the report you need.
- Make the necessary customization.
- Tap the Email dropdown, then select either to Send the report as Excel or PDF.
