I would feel the same if I were in the same situation and scanning many documents into the system. Can you share your QuickBooks Desktop version with us?
Scan Manager is no longer available in QuickBooks Desktop 2022. You can still use Scan Manager in previous, currently supported versions.
For the 2022 version, you can use the mobile app to snap and attach documents to QuickBooks Desktop. Check out this link: Attach documents to transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
Also, you can still manually attach files to transactions, all in one place, using the QuickBooks Doc Center. Please note we have a specific list of transactions and items that allow attachments.
