Hello there, @jneen29.

I appreciate you chiming in on this thread and sharing your concern with us. I'd be glad to provide some insights about reclassifying transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You can utilize the Reclassify Transactions tool to change multiple transactions or move them to a different account. However, there are a few you can't move since they're tied to specific accounts and features. This includes the following:

  • You can change the class for invoices, sales receipts, checks, or bills with items (products or services) on them. However, you can’t change the accounts.
  • You can’t change the account or class for inventory adjustments since they’re connected to your inventory shrinkage and asset accounts.

For more information about what other transactions you're unable to reclassify, please refer to this article: Reclassify or move multiple transactions at once. Just go directly to the Learn about types of transactions you can’t move section.

Moreover, I can see how having the ability to reclassify these transactions in QBO would be helpful for you and your business. That said, you can follow the steps shared by my peer, Giovann_G, above to submit a feature request to our Product Development Team.

In case you need help with other tasks in QuickBooks Online, you can visit our general help topics page. Just type your concern in the search field, and this page will route you to the related help articles, Community discussions, video tutorials, and more.

I'll be here whenever you need more help with your QuickBooks account. Just add them to your reply, and I'll take care of them for you. Wishing you and your business continued success!
