I can help you show the tax-exempt customer's report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. On the search bar, type Customer Contact List.
  3. Click the small Gear icon.
  4. Select Show more, then check the Taxable box.
  5. Hit Run report.

 

You'll see a customer with a Yes in a Taxable column. If you don't want to include the non-taxable customer, you can manually check it under the Customize report window. I'll show you how:

 

  1. Click the Customize button.
  2. Under Filter, click the Customer dropdown arrow.
  3. Put a checkmark beside the customer's name.
  4. Click Run report.

 

Also, you may pull up the Sales Tax Liability report to get a detailed look at the taxes you owe. This is to make sure everything is correct before you file and pay your sales tax return.
