I'm here to provide another troubleshooting step that may help fix this issue.

 

Before we start, here are some reason why QuickBooks Desktop freezes:

 

  • Your company's name could be too long.
  • You could have a corrupted or missing QBWUSER.INI file.
  • Your hard drive could be corrupted.
  • Your QuickBooks Desktop installation or program files may have been corrupted.
  • You could have a faulty Windows operating system.

 

We'll use the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. This will assist us in identifying any issues with your QuickBooks Desktop. Here's how:

 

  1. Download the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool and open it.
  2. Select Program Problems from the Tool Hub.
  3. Select QuickBooks Program Diagnostic Tool from the drop-down menu. Allow the tool to run. It may take up to 20 minutes to complete.
  4. After the tool has completed, restart your computer and relaunch QuickBooks.
