Welcome to the Community. Allow me to chime in and share some information about the option that fixed the user's problem in QuickBooks Desktop.
The user from the thread refers to the option that you can find directly from your email settings. Each online email service has security and filter settings that can block third-party apps like QuickBooks from sending emails.
You'll not see the option within your QuickBooks. I recommend accessing your email account via a web browser or app (if they have one) to review the security settings.
The steps to access security settings will be different for each email provider. If you need further assistance with allowing third-party apps connection, you can reach out to your email's customer support.
If you're using Yahoo Mail or Gmail, the steps are available for you to follow in this article: Fix webmail password issues in QuickBooks Desktop.
There are times you'll encounter error messages about the system not being able to connect to the email server or the remote server. In case this will happen in the future, I've attached a link on how to fix it: Fix Error: Could not connect to the email server.
