Thanks for joining this thread, @morgybeez. I can share some information about the tip option when creating an invoice in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

At this time, the option to use the tip feature when creating an invoice is unavailable. I suggest generating a service item that you can include as a tip in your invoice.

Let's first choose an account to track the tips. QBO creates a tip account automatically once you turn on the Tips feature. You can change it by following the steps in the Change default tips accounts section. You can also set up your own account, and ensure that you're using a liability account.

Then, let's associate the account to the service item / tip:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select Products and services tab.
  2. Click the New button and select Service.
  3. Name the service as Tip, and then choose Undistributed Tips/the account you've created under the Income account.
  4. Click Save and close.

Once done, you can now add this service item to your invoices. Here's how:

  1. Click the + New button, and then select Invoice.
  2. Select a customer.
  3. Enter the necessary information.
  4. Add the service item or Tip and enter the Amount.
  5. Select Save and send or Save and close.

You can also check out this article on how to add tips to a sales receipt.

Please refer to this link for additional information about paying out tips to employees: Share tips with your team. It includes the process of giving tips before depositing the final amount into the employees' bank accounts.

You can also send feedback so our concerned Product Developers team can take action to help improve your experience. Please know that the more users request this idea, the greater the chances it’ll be part of future enhancements. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Feedback.
  2. Enter your suggestions, then select Next.

I'm just one click away if you need a hand with adding tips to your invoices or anything QBO related. I'm always here to ensure your success. Have a good one!
