OH MY GOSH!!  After the 10 time updating (after checking "reset updates", closing the program, and re-opening, all the mapping was locked for the 1099 NEC. Went into the 1099 MISC and changed them all to "Omit", saved and closed, went back to NEC, checked the box for "all payments in box 1, and VIOLA, got to the print preview and IT'S THREE TO A PAGE!!.  Thanks for posting - it really shouldn't have been this much of a pain but at least it's move on time!
